After the rehabilitation of Silent Hill 2 and the old Resident Evil games, many fans are dreaming of a remake of Dino Crisis. Shinji Mikami's other cult survival horror game was released in 1999 on PS1, three years after the launch of the legendary Resident Evil 1. Will there be an updated version of this classic? A few years ago, we would have said no, but now we can remain hopeful. A Capcom survey highlighted the fans' still-intense interest in the franchise. Are you also a fan of Dino Crisis? This promising upcoming game is made for you, and you're sure to love it.
While waiting for Dino Crisis Remake, here is the PS5 exclusive Code Violet
Dino Crisis Remake no longer seems so unreal given Capcom's strategy of dusting off some of its biggest franchises. And that's without taking into account the trademark filing discovered in March 2025, or precisely the aforementioned Capcom survey which aims to take the temperature on a possible return of the survival-horror saga. In the meantime, several "spiritual successors" have been announced such as Deathground, The Lost Wild, Jurassic Park Survival or even Code Violet. A PS5 exclusive to be released in July 2025.
Code Violet is indeed a new survival-horror which does not hide its particular desire to attract fans of Dino Crisis. Aside from the horror setting and the female lead, there are other hints in the recently released, very long gameplay video, such as the red lasers. "In the 25th century, a cataclysm rendered Earth uninhabitable, forcing humanity's survivors to Trappist 1-E. Threatened with extinction due to sterility, the Aion colony exploits cutting-edge time travel technology to abduct women from the past to serve as surrogate mothers in a grim but desperate attempt to save humanity." As in Dino Crisis, we'll explore a complex led by Violet Sinclair. The program includes puzzles, gunfights, and limited inventory management with resources to be combined and used sparingly. While it may sound interesting on paper, we're a little wary since it's the studio behind Quantum Error - one of the lowest-rated games in history - that's behind it. Verdict in July 2025 on PS5.
