Next July, the Fantastic Four will make their debut in the MCU with the film Fantastic Four: First Steps. Before the film's release, we can tell you that one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe will appear on screen, and no, it's not Galactus.
The first Marvel family to join Phase 6 of the MCU
In a few weeks, Marvel will release Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters. Fans will find Pedro Pascal in the Reed Richards costume, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss Bachrac as the Thing. The studio has already started marketing the film, and official merchandise has just revealed a first look at one of Marvel's most popular and powerful characters. And we're not talking about the villainous Galactus.
Indeed, in the film's trailer, we discover that Sue is pregnant, and HERBIE, the superhero family's robot, was shown building a crib. So, we know that the film will reference Franklin Richards but it's impossible to know if he will appear on screen.
However, if we believe the Funko Pop! figures, it's possible that he will appear on screen. In the image of the characters from the film, Sue and Reed's son could be born in the feature film since he appears as a figurine alongside his mother.
Franklin Richards, a powerful character who will have an important role in the MCU
Franklin appeared in the comics for the first time in 1968. He is able to alter reality on a cosmic scale, manipulate energy, travel through time and the multiverse, as well as create conscious entities. Needless to say, the little one is powerful! From a young age, he demonstrated his ability to create entire universes. A power that goes far beyond what Galactus can do.
It would be surprising if Marvel didn't include this character with such powers in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. It remains to be seen how the studio will introduce Franklin Richards in future MCU projects. But what is certain is that Franklin will have a major role to play in Avengers: Secret Wars and would be the key to defeating Doom!
