The global launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected at the very end of May in France. But for once, we're discovering a large part of the ultra-thin smartphone's specifications before its launch.
Given the proximity of the latter and the reliability of the source, Winfuture, there is little doubt about the veracity of the information shared here. The images and specifications likely come from official Samsung documents.
An ultra-premium smartphone price
Let's start with the price, since this information was previously questionable. According to our German colleagues, the smartphone would be marketed in Germany at a price of 1,249 euros, with a basic storage capacity of 256 GB. The price would then rise to 1,369 euros for the 512 GB model. Both models would be equipped with 12 GB of RAM.
It goes without saying that the bill seems a bit steep on paper for a smartphone with only two camera modules. On the market, once you pass 700 euros, it is rare not to see at least a small telephoto lens poking its lens out on the back of a phone. Samsung will undoubtedly justify the price with the device's excellent finish, as well as its innovative character.
Thickness finally confirmed
This innovative character is essentially due to one characteristic: its extreme thinness. Its thickness was still up for debate, but with WinFuture's documents, we can probably conclude that the smartphone will measure 5.85 mm thick. To give some perspective, the Galaxy S25, which we considered rather thin during its test, measures 7.2 mm. Such a thickness would undoubtedly place Samsung in the game of ultra-thin smartphones, even if they are not expected to set any records. Indeed, the Tecno Spark Slim produced by the Chinese giant Transsion (not present in France) already displays better at 5.75 mm. We were able to get our hands on it at MWC 2025 and the experience left a strong impression.
The Galaxy S25 Edge, unlike the Spark Slim, which is closer to the concept, is a finished product that aims to be sold. It must therefore make some concessions in order to be produced on a large scale. This is undoubtedly the reason why it is not as light as its Chinese competitor. It would weigh 163g, compared to 146g for Tecno. Nevertheless, a smartphone this thin and light should still make a small impact. There is also a fine line for smartphone manufacturers to tread so that the consumer does not get the impression that their smartphone is too light, giving an impression of fragility.
To finish on the design, the smartphone would have a titanium frame, a glass back and would be IP 68 certified. It would be rather large since the diagonal of the OLED screen would be 6.7 inches. By the way, the screen should be full of pixels with a probably QHD panel (3120 x 1440 p).
200 Mpx and 12 Mpx for the photo
The rest of the technical sheet is also confirmed, but we have fewer surprises there. With such thinness, the battery would inevitably take a hit and drop to 3900 mAh, less than the 4000 mAh of the compact Galaxy S25.
The Galaxy S25 Edge should, as mentioned, be equipped with two cameras. The main one, the wide angle, would be very well equipped with a 200 Mpx sensor. The ultra-wide angle, for its part, should fall into the camp of the concessions made by the phone, since its sensor would go up to 12 Mpx.
In terms of performance, the ultra-thin smartphone would be equipped with the most high-end SoC of the moment, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, in its "for Galaxy" version. The ultra-thin aspect of the product raises many questions about the cooling of such a device, especially with such a powerful chip. It wouldn't be surprising if Samsung had somewhat restricted the chip to prevent overheating.
The S25 Edge is expected to ship with One UI 7, the Korean company's interface having been revamped and running on Android 15. The smartphone is expected to support the latest WiFi 7 standard as well as Bluetooth 5.4
