Gears of War Reloaded is coming to PS5, Xbox, and PC this year

The rumor had been circulating for several months. Like with the arrival of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5. It's now official: Gears of War will soon be back in a re-release on Xbox Series X/S and PC, but also on PS5!

Gears of War Reloaded in August on PC and consoles

Gears of War Reloaded is coming to PS5, Xbox, and PC this year

To celebrate its 20th anniversary (which the franchise will officially celebrate next year), the original Gears of War returns, faithfully remastered and optimized, on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and for the very first time on PS5. The title was developed by The Coalition in collaboration with Sumo Interactive and Disbelief.

Gears of War: Reloaded will be available on August 26, 2025, for €39.99 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5, and Steam, and will be available on day one with Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. Players who already own Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be able to pick up this Reloaded version for free.

Unsurprisingly, the game will be compatible with Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing it to be played on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Gears of War: Reloaded supports cross-play and cross-progression across all platforms, allowing Xbox and PlayStation players to play together.

The game will feature native 4K resolution with a 60FPS frame rate for the single-player campaign and up to 120FPS for multiplayer. Ultimately, the game is a remaster of the remake Gears of War Ultimate Edition, released in 2015. This Reloaded version will therefore offer all the improvements and content of this remake.

A good way to get back into the universe before the arrival of the next installment, expected in 2026. For the moment, we do not know if the other four installments in the series will be entitled, or not, to a reissue and a port on PlayStation with the release of Gears of War: E-Day.
