A free game still available on GOG, a classic in its genre
It's a turn-based strategy game that's currently available for free on GOG. It's Warhammer 40K Rites of War, developed by Dreamforge Entertainment, and is an absolutely cult title in the franchise. Released in 1999 (yes, that was a long time ago), the game is now part of GOG's new preservation initiative to preserve older titles. Rites of War puts us in command of a group of Eldar fighters, a faction that is underrepresented in the franchise's video games, who set out to face the Tyranids, the illustrious enemies of our beloved Space Marines. So yes, the game is clearly steeped in its original state, but it's a classic of its kind. Warhammer 40k Rites of War is free on GOG until May 29th at 5:59 PM.
