Until now, writing a note on Google Keep web version meant tapping away in an interface devoid of any artifice. Now, users can visually enhance their notes with a basic formatting palette: bold, italics, and underline are making their appearance.
This new feature is not yet available to everyone. Google is announcing a gradual rollout, as usual, first to Google Workspace users. No date has been specified for traditional Google accounts, but the update should eventually reach all users. While these features may seem trivial, they significantly improve the web experience, making note-taking more readable and better structured.
A web version finally aligned with the Android app
One of the recurring criticisms of Keep was the gap between its mobile and web versions. On Android, the recent addition of a quick note-taking button already demonstrated Google's desire to refine the user experience. This time, it's the browser's turn to benefit from a little lick of paint.
The ability to create H2-type headings or to highlight certain passages using typographic effects greatly improves readability. While Keep doesn't rival more comprehensive tools like Notion or Evernote, these additions strengthen its position as a quick, simple, and now slightly more readable note-taking tool. We're not complaining.
