It's been almost a week since Rockstar Games turned the internet upside down with the release of the second trailer for GTA 6 and the first 70 images of the game. As the long wait of a year begins, until the game's release on May 26, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, it's time to take stock and analyze the game's content, which promises to be gargantuan.
Thanks to the second trailer and the first official images, we were able to discover around fifteen activities that will be present in the game, such as billiards, basketball, hunting and fishing. Today, we can also focus on the animals that will be present in the game.
Clearly, like Red Dead Redemption II which offered an impressive bestiary, GTA 6 also seems to be heading towards very varied content for its fauna and flora.

GTA 6: many animals in the game
In total, around thirty animals have been confirmed for GTA 6, thanks to the game's first two trailers and the first 70 official images. Among the animals, we find birds, marine animals, forest animals, and domestic animals.
Domestic animals
Regarding domestic animals, there are currently eight. We find:

The corn snake is a domestic snake, which we saw in the game's second trailer, in a sequence with Jason and Lucia at home. The snake is in an aquarium. There's a good chance that wild snakes will be present in the game, as was the case with Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption II.
Marine Animals
In total, we can also mention no fewer than seven marine animals in the game, thanks to the first two trailers and the screenshots from May 6, 2025. Among the animals we find:

Moray eel, exotic fish, and even sea turtles, the seabed of GTA 6 promises to be rich in diversity. The game's ecosystem looks really promising; we're probably heading towards the most complete GTA ever.
Forest Animals
GTA 6 promises us large, lush forests with a huge variety of environments. Mount Kalaga is a prime example, promising to offer us some exceptional panoramas. Of course, these regions will be populated by animals of varying degrees of danger. To date, we have been able to discover six forest animals with:

Right at the start of the second trailer, you can discreetly see a raccoon going out and back into a trash can, behind Jason's friend Brian. In a screenshot of Mount Kalaga, another raccoon is present, like foxes, does, deer or even the famous pumas that will be the big threats in its forests!
Birds
Often, they are not the most disturbing animals. Very discreet, birds are still very important in the ecosystem of an open-world game, as we can see in Red Dead Redemption II. Obviously, there will be many of them in GTA 6 since we can already count around ten different species among:

Quite a few flying animals have already been spotted in the first images of GTA 6. With the arrival of swamps, forests, and paradise beaches, there will likely be many different birds in the game, which we will probably have to hunt, just like in Red Dead Redemption II.
