The big Nintendo Direct dedicated to the Switch 2 rekindled the flame of fans by briefly showing gameplay clips of Hollow Knight Silksong, with a release year finally set at 2025. This also corroborated various reports and rumors suggesting the same thing. While waiting for a more precise date, the highly anticipated title from Team Cherry was the subject of a surprise announcement that further confirms the thing... but you'll have to go to Australia to enjoy it.
Hollow Knight Silksong will soon play at home
Due to its Australian nationality, the Team Cherry studio has indeed prepared a little gift for its compatriots. Recently, the Australian National Museum of Screen Culture (ACMI), located in Melbourne, announced the holding of an exhibition called Game Worlds in September 2025. This will allow participants to play "around thirty unforgettable games" such as World of Warcraft, The Sims, but also a certain... Hollow Knight Silksong!
The sequel to Hollow Knight, which stars Hornet, will therefore be available to try at the ACMI in Melbourne in just four months. Whether this will be its first playable version or a demo planned after the official release of Hollow Knight Silksong remains to be determined. The article announcing the exhibition specifies, in any case, that tickets will be available for sale from July. If you were thinking about taking a vacation in September, here's a potential food for thought.
Speaking of the upcoming summer, let's remember that Summer Game Fest 2025 will be held from June 6 to 9. According to a leak a few weeks ago, Hollow Knight Silksong should still be making waves at the Xbox Games Showcase. If this is the case, we should finally be treated to the announcement of the long-awaited release date, probably on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series and Game Pass. Once again, we'll have to be a little patient to find out the end of this long story.
