Free mobile and Freebox subscribers are in trouble. Part of France is currently experiencing a major outage, which occurred early this afternoon. On X, the French telecoms giant reported: "Our fixed and mobile networks are currently experiencing disruptions." The entire country is not in the same boat, since only the departments of Aveyron, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Lot, Tarn and Tarn-et-Garonne seem to be affected for the moment.

On social media, many subscribers reported the impossibility of connecting to their landline and mobile networks. Several thousand incident reports have been recorded in recent hours on the Down Detector website, demonstrating the scale of the phenomenon. 51% of users report a home network outage, with their box remaining stuck at stage 2. 19% report a mobile outage, with significant disruptions to accessing the internet from their smartphone. Finally, 31% are facing a total blackout.
