One Piece: the anime breaks this new Guinness World Record

One Piece never ceases to surprise. An extraordinary longevity for this work, which began in the 90s and continues to make noise. Between its manga, its adaptations into films, anime, and video games, but also its trading card game and its community of loyal fans, One Piece leaves nothing to chance. And recently, One Piece broke a new Guinness World Record.

A new Guinness World Record broken for One Piece

Trophies and achievements, One Piece collects them. Eiichiro Oda's work has garnered countless awards, with chapters that thrill the web with each release. And that's without counting its adaptation into an anime and live-action series by Netflix, whose new releases are scrutinized by millions of fans spread across the globe. One Piece has gradually emerged as a true social phenomenon.

It is therefore not surprising to see One Piece recently break yet another Guinness World Record. Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, and Jacob Romero (who play Roronoa Zoro, Nami, and Usopp respectively in the Netflix live-action series adaptation) were recently present at Anime Expo Osaka. Accompanied by a myriad of fans, they attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing straw hats in one place.

The fans responded, and as @pewpiece spotted on X, the record has been broken. This is the fourth Guinness World Record broken for One Piece. It's the only anime and manga franchise to have achieved such a feat, which shows how much One Piece shines internationally. The anime had already broken the Guinness World Record for the most DVDs ever released for a television series, while the manga twice broke the record for the most copies of a comic book sold by a single author.

One Piece makes history again with this new record, but it remains to be seen what the franchise has in store for us next. In any case, we can't wait to see what feats One Piece will achieve in the coming months, or even years.
