Between the manga and the anime, every week is a celebration for One Piece fans. But when a real celebration takes place, the atmosphere is even more beautiful. This is the case today, because May 5th is Luffy's birthday. No one has forgotten this date, especially those working on Eiichiro Oda's work who shared a very beautiful illustration of the character.
One Piece is not celebrating
Although we would like to organize a banquet to celebrate Luffy's birthday, the atmosphere is not really festive for our heroes. The anime is currently in the middle of the Egghead arc with episode 1128 that announces terrible events. Indeed, Saturn has appeared on the island to general shock. Those who follow the manga know what's going to happen, but they too aren't ready for what awaits them on Elbaf.
In the manga, Eiichiro Oda gives his characters no respite. A battle rages on the island of giants, and everyone wonders how it will end. The adversity is formidable, with Divine Knights who are immortal. Their fear of Luffy, however, gives a glimmer of hope for our heroes. While we wait to learn more in the next chapter, let's celebrate the protagonist's birthday with a beautiful illustration.

Every May 5th is an event, because all One Piece fans celebrate Luffy's birthday. This year, the manga's official website shared on X an illustration of the character in his Wano arc colors enjoying a good meal. The illustrator's identity is unknown, but the drawing is sublime and gives off a very pleasant summer atmosphere.

In addition to this illustration, Luffy received another nice gift. The @Eiichiro_Staff account also shared a little surprise for the character on X. This time it's not a drawing but a montage made up of images from the manga. A nice thought for the protagonist.
