While Google is refining the final details of Android 16, Samsung is already anticipating the rollout of One UI 8. Unlike the sluggish launch of One UI 7 under Android 15, the South Korean brand seems to be accelerating the pace this time. Some models will even be equipped with it directly upon release.
Faster adoption of Android 16 with One UI 8
Samsung is capitalizing on Google's recent efforts to standardize Android adoption. After a launch of One UI 7 that was deemed a little too slow by users, the company intends to correct the situation with One UI 8. The brand's next foldable smartphones, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, will be released directly under Android 16, while an open beta phase is expected in the coming weeks.
For several years, Samsung has strengthened its software update policy. The Galaxy S24 and later models now benefit from 7 years of software support, which is the best in the Android world. For other ranges, the rule is simple: if your device was launched with Android 14 or newer, you can confidently consider an update to Android 16.
