Parc Astérix: highly anticipated by customers, this attraction is still closed

Parc Astérix, located just a few kilometers from Paris, has just reopened its doors for a new season. And who says new season, says new attractions. Every year, the park offers new attractions, but it seems that everything is not going as planned for this 2025 season. Indeed, if you were planning to go to Parc Astérix this May, you might be disappointed.

Cétautomatix, the new roller coaster at Parc Astérix for the 2025 season

Last April, Parc Astérix reopened for a new season. Like every year, the leisure destination located just 35 km north of Paris offers its visitors new attractions. After Tonnerre 2 Zeus, Toutatis and La Tour Numérobis inaugurated last year, a new roller coaster for the whole family has just taken its place in the Gauloise zone of the park. Called Cétautomatix, this spinning coaster pays tribute to the famous blacksmith of the Gaulish village. The ride offers a ride that reaches a maximum height of 14 meters, where visitors board rotating cars that soar at 45 km/h! An attraction that aims to be family-friendly.

We knew that when Parc Astérix reopened, the Cétautomatix attraction would not be accessible. Management had indicated that its inauguration was scheduled for mid-May. Except that, until now, this new ride is still closed.

No official opening date for Cétautomatix

It seems that the final adjustments to ensure the attraction's inauguration goes smoothly have been delayed. The park's technical teams are conducting daytime tests by launching empty chariots onto the tracks. It's a safe bet that Cétautomatix won't be taking on its first passengers anytime soon.

Indeed, while Parc Astérix management had previously announced the inauguration of its new attraction during the month of May, hoping to attract crowds, the park has had to resign itself to changing its plans and postponing its opening without providing a specific date.

Officially, no information has been released. Only on the Parc Astérix website has the mention of the inauguration of Cétautomatix been replaced by "opening soon". This means that if you're planning a trip to the Gauls this May, there's little chance you'll be able to try the new attraction. Let's hope it's operational this summer.
