Pokemon Scarlet & Purple: Lots of very rare Pokemon to catch, hurry!

Pokemon Scarlet & Purple: Lots of very rare Pokemon to catch, hurry!

All eyes will soon be on Legends ZA, but until then, there's no question of Pokemon Scarlet & Purple slowing down. The game duo has managed to build a loyal community by regularly offering gifts, but above all by rolling out major temporary events. One of them is available now and will allow you to get your hands on rare creatures.

Two events not to be missed in Pokemon Scarlet & Purple

In addition to its gift distribution, GameFreak offers a plethora of regular activities to keep even the most dedicated trainers busy. Until May 9, 2025 at 1:59 AM (French time), players will be able to participate in a special Teracrystal Raid that will allow them to capture a very rare Pokémon. This time, Mordudor is in the spotlight in its chest form. No need to collect coins galore, unlike the traditional method to capture it in Pokemon Scarlet & Purple. No need to be very experienced either, since it will appear in raids from 1 to 5 stars, so it will be widely accessible. And if that weren't enough, it can even appear in its shiny form... and it's not the only one.

As is often the case, a Teracrystal raid never comes alone in Pokemon Scarlet & Purple. At the same time, new hordes will be part of the game. Until the same deadline, Caninos, Tylton, and Moltrell will appear in large numbers in the game's various regions. For once, this event will be an opportunity to get your hands on their shiny versions, which will then have a greater chance of appearing. Here are the locations of this week's lucky ones in Pokemon Scarlet & Purple:

  • Paldea(for all players): Mollet.
  • Northern Lights: Caninos.
  • Blueberry Institute: Tylton.

How to activate raids?

To access these events, you must first update your Poké Portal News and have completed the main quest for Pokemon Scarlet or Purple. An internet connection will be required. However, a Nintendo Switch Online subscription will not be required, unless you wish to take part in online raids. Here's how to do it, which is super simple:

  • Start Pokemon Scarlet & Purple on Nintendo Switch
  • Make sure you have the latest update installed
  • Complete the main story or join trainers
  • Subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online if you're participating in raids with other players
  • Go to the Poké Portal menu
  • Then to "Mystery Gifts"
  • Select "Receive Poké Portal News"
