Only a few days left for the international launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung's ultra-thin and lightweight premium smartphone. We also learned that it will be equipped with a 200 MP camera sensor.
Samsung has been teasing us for months, and the moment of truth is approaching. The manufacturer had made its Galaxy S25 Edge official last January when it announced the Galaxy S25 series, before showing the device at MWC in Barcelona. It has now announced that a launch conference for the product will be held on May 13, 2025, at 9 a.m. in South Korea, which brings us to May 13, 2025, at 2 a.m. here.
Usually, Samsung chooses a time more suited to Western countries (early afternoon in the United States and early evening in Europe). Here, by preferring to kick off the Galaxy S25 at a decent time in South Korea, the manufacturer suggests that this device, with its design focused on thinness and lightness, may be aimed more specifically at the local market. Don't worry, that doesn't mean the smartphone won't be available here at all.
A 200 MP camera for the Galaxy S25 Edge
“We constantly strive to understand the evolving needs of our users and innovate to bring them what they want. By pushing the boundaries of mobile technology, we exceed their expectations and open new possibilities. The latest addition to the Galaxy S series is both a powerful AI companion and an engineering marvel, combining high-end performance and superior portability,” Samsung explains in a statement.
“More than just a thin smartphone, every curve, every contour, and every component demonstrates a precision technological advancement for a premium experience worthy of the S series. The Galaxy S25 Edge not only sets a new standard for smartphones, but also ushers in a new era of growth for the mobile industry,” enthuses the brand.
Samsung specifies that the main sensor of the S25 Edge will benefit from a definition of 200 MP. But the size of this is also an element to take into account when estimating the quality of a camera. For the rest of the technical specifications, we still have a few days to wait.
