Season 2 of Andor is currently in its ninth episode on Disney+, spanning 12 episodes. It follows the adventures of Cassian (Diego Luna) within the Rebellion during the years leading up to his suicide mission in Rogue One. Having become Emperor since the events of Revenge of the Sith, Palpatine is secretly behind the Republic's worst actions. But one senator isn't fooled: Mon Mothma has just publicly accused him, in the middle of a meeting, of being responsible for the atrocities taking place in the galaxy.

A speech that marks a turning point in Star Wars
The strength of the perfidious Darth Sidious is that he has climbed the ladder of power by claiming to be in the service of the galaxy, positioning himself as a voluntary and selfless leader. His speech in Revenge of the Sith made the Jedi enemies of the Empire, and since then, although it seems hard to believe that the whole thing was not discovered, no one has publicly accused him of being the enemy. Many even thought that Palpatine was being manipulated and was unaware of what was going on behind his back, such as the Ghorman Massacre. In Andor Season 2, Episode 5, a Ghorman businessman tells Syril: Many of us believe that the Emperor has no idea what is being done in his name. We believe the ISB [Imperial Security Bureau] runs a shadow government.
Now, with her speech, Mon Mothma has just changed the game, finally exposing Palpatine as the true tyrant he is in the eyes of the entire galaxy, and this affront will not go unpunished...
