While Warner and James Gunn have just won this major victory regarding Superman, luck continues to smile on the Iron Man. According to a first official review of a non-final cut of the film, the remake of the adventures of Clark Kent is a success.
Superman, an anticipated remake
On July 9, the most famous superhero on the planet will return to theaters in the guise of David Corenswet, a young 31-year-old American actor with blue eyes and a square jaw. Behind the camera will be James Gunn, co-director of DC Studios with Peter Safran, who will kick off the new DCU on the big screen. Fans are eager to discover the tone of this Superman 2025, following Zack Snyder's dark Man of Steel. According to Michael De Luca, Warner Bros. Co-Chairman and CEO, the director understood the essence of the character:
We saw a rough cut of Superman, and I don't want to bury it, there's a lot of marketing about to be rolled out before it comes out, but [James Gunn] really understood the mission....He has his heart in the right place, he's on target, and we're very excited about this new DC release.

During his appearance on the podcast microphone Smartless, Michael De Luca offers the first official reaction to Superman, two months after mixed reviews from test screenings. As the head of the studio producing the film, his opinion should nevertheless be taken with a grain of salt. We'll have to wait for the final cut of the film, and press feedback on social media, to get a clearer idea of its worth. The trailers already promise a hopeful spectacle, with saturated colors, facing Nicholas Hoult's villain, Lex Luthor.
