It's on May 13th, at 9am Seoul time (2am Paris time) that Samsung will completely unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge. This new member of the S25 family was teased in the form of a closing "one more thing" for the Unpacked event in January. Then, the manufacturer showed off the smartphone here and there, for example during the MWC.
The beginning of a new era, promises Samsung
But we still know nothing (officially) about the launch date, the price, and the technical specifications. Even the thinness, the device's main selling point, has not yet been specified. But as rumor had announced, it is indeed on May 13 that we will know everything!
The Galaxy S25 Edge is "more than just a thin device," says Samsung. "Every curve, every detail, every component embodies a feat of precision engineering, to deliver a premium experience worthy of the Galaxy S name," enthuses the manufacturer, never short of words. "High-end" could rhyme with "high price": a few days ago, a leak announced hefty prices starting at €1,249.
This same rumor gave other details: a 6.7-inch QHD screen, a weight of 163 grams, two photo sensors on the back (200 MP for the main one and 12 MP for the ultra-wide angle), a Snapdragon 8 Elite "for Galaxy" (will it be throttled to prevent overheating?), and a battery with a capacity of 3900mAh - 100 mAh less than the Galaxy S25. Battery life may be the main feature sacrificed on the altar of a thickness of only 5.85mm.
The Galaxy S25 Edge should not be a coup for nothing. Samsung promises that the smartphone "paves the way for a new era of growth for the mobile industry." This is also what is being whispered at Apple with the iPhone 17 Air: these ultra-thin devices introduce technologies that will be found in future smartphones.
