The Last of Us: Season 3 already has some news, and it's good

On Sunday night, HBO aired "Feel Her Love," the fifth episode of season 2 of The Last of Us. Continuing the adventures of Ellie and Dina through the streets of Seattle, it continues to adapt the first arc of The Last of Us Part II, which, as we know, will be the subject of several seasons. And as we are already approaching the conclusion of this season 2, the last episode of which will be broadcast on May 25, a member of the cast talks about the filming of the next season.

Isabela Merced talks about season 3 of The Last of Us

In an interview with Variety, Isabela Merced, who plays the role of Dina, revealed that production on season 3 of The Last of Us has not yet begun. She also clarified that this shouldn't happen until next year at the earliest, and at this point, she's not even sure if Craig Mazin, the series' director, has a firm idea of how he wants to approach things. "I don't think he's quite sure how things are going to play out yet," she said. However, she does share her eagerness to see how fans will react to the next two installments in The Last of Us, especially given all the changes made to her character. "I've already sent him text messages with suggestions on how people will react to the end of Season 2, and how I think Dina—now that she's changed a lot compared to the game—would react to the events that happen," Merced said.

The series has not finished surprising us

Because if there's one thing we can be sure of, it's that players have not finished being surprised with this Season 2 of The Last of Us. "I can't wait to talk about the episode 7, because for me it's a huge change in their relationship," the actress assures, before sharing her excitement at the idea of discovering "what will happen when the truth is revealed." And there's no doubt that season 3, made official even before the first episode of season 2 aired, will also bring its share of changes and unexpected elements. The wait could be long.
