Marvel has decided to keep you glued to your seat: Thunderbolts will reveal more than one post-credits scene. Perfect for those who like spoilers... or who need an excuse to finish their popcorn.
Marvel is reviving a forgotten tradition: Thunderbolts will feature not one, but two post-credits scenes, a first since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. An announcement that rekindles the excitement of fans, accustomed to having only one bonus sequence, or even none, in recent MCU films. Enough to rekindle speculation about the future of the universe, as Avengers: Doomsday looms.
The era of multiple scenes therefore seems to be making a comeback. After The Avengers (2012), which popularized the concept, Marvel alternated between one and five bonus scenes, as in Vol. 2 of Guardians of the Galaxy. But since Endgame, the studio has reduced the dose. Thunderbolts reverses the trend, confirming that Phases 4 and 5 haven't buried the format.

What do these surprises have in store for us?
While the details remain secret, rumors point to a link with Avengers Doomsday. In Captain America: Brave New World, Samuel Sterns already mentioned a multiversal threat. However, the Thunderbolts, a team of "anti-heroes" including Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, and Ghost, could cross paths with Captain America (Anthony Mackie) and other heroes in this upcoming blockbuster.
The film will also feature Sentry/The Void, the central antagonist played by Lewis Pullman. His role in Doomsday has been confirmed by director Jake Schreier, suggesting that the post-credits scenes will provide clues about his fate. Another clue: Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), who manipulates the group, could also be at the heart of the teasers.
It remains to be seen whether Marvel will reserve any nods to other franchises, like Fantastic Four or X-Men. One thing is certain: fans will have to stay seated until the very end of the credits. In fact, we can already tell you that one of these post-credits scenes lasts no less than 2 minutes and 54 seconds, the longest to date for a Marvel film.
