Triple camera, 100 MP, 6K HDR: the DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone is a war beast

After numerous leaks and high anticipation from aerial photography enthusiasts, DJI has officially unveiled the Mavic 4 Pro. And the Chinese manufacturer is pulling out all the stops, confirming almost everything we could expect from this drone. At the heart of this technological revolution is a triple camera system with varying focal lengths (28 mm, 70 mm, and 168 mm), allowing you to juggle between magnificent landscapes and ultra-detailed close-ups. The main camera, designed by Hasselblad, features a 100 MP 4/3 CMOS sensor and the HNCS (Hasselblad Natural Color Solution) profile for more faithful color reproduction. Its adjustable aperture from f/2.0 to f/11 should allow for quality shots even in low light, while allowing for creative effects, such as 10-ray starbursts.

The other two cameras are not left out, with the presence of a 70mm medium telephoto lens (48 Mpx sensor) and a long telephoto lens with a 50 Mpx sensor (168 mm). The latter features an optimized stabilization algorithm to produce stable and detailed images, even at great distances.

Great promises in photo and video

The Mavic 4 Pro doesn't just promise great photos; it also has big ambitions in the video department. All three cameras support 4K HDR video recording at 60 fps. The Hasselblad main camera goes even further, offering 6K HDR video at 60 fps with a dynamic range of up to 16 stops. For fans of spectacular slow motion, the main camera and the medium telephoto lens can record in 4K at 120 fps. Color consistency is ensured thanks to the 10-bit D-Log, D-Log M, and HLG color profiles available on all three sensors.

The DJI drone also features an "Infinty" gimbal, capable of a full 360° rotation and an upward tilt of up to 70°.

Optimized safety and flight performance

Safety is not overlooked with improved omnidirectional obstacle detection, even in low light, thanks to six high-performance fisheye sensors and dual processors. The Mavic 4 Pro can thus avoid obstacles at speeds of up to 18 m/s, and the ActiveTrack 360° system has also been refined. In terms of performance, the 95 Wh battery offers a flight time of up to 51 minutes, and the drone promises an extended HD video transmission range of 30 km thanks to the new DJI O4+ system. The Mavic 4 Pro also boasts top speeds of up to 90 km/h.

To accompany its latest gem, DJI is launching the DJI RC Pro 2 remote controller with a high-brightness (2000 cd/m²) 7-inch Mini-LED screen. It adds a rotating screen to synchronize vertical shots with the gimbal and multibeam antennas. Battery charging has also been optimized with a 240W AC adapter and a parallel charging station capable of charging three batteries simultaneously in 90 minutes. This station can even be transformed into a 100W portable charger to charge phones and laptops in the field.
