Tonight is the big night. The night of The Outer Worlds 2, Microsoft games, and also of all the wildest hopes like Hollow Knight Silksong and The Elder Scrolls 6 if we're aiming for the moon. For a few years now, the Xbox Showcase has become the summer conference not to be missed. Phil Spencer and his teams always bring together some very nice people, in addition to presenting the upcoming games from his studios, which now include Activision/Blizzard and Bethesda. It's also, and above all, the opportunity to discover future independent and AA sensations. And after Clair Obscur Expedition 33, another French game from a beloved license is about to be unveiled: A Plague Tale. Here's your first big leak from the Xbox Showcase.
A new A Plague Tale game revealed early
The surprise would have been huge if it hadn't been for this mess. Focus Entertainment is expected to make the trip tonight to the Xbox Showcase or the PC Gaming Show, the two major conferences remaining for this Summer Game Fest 2025. Given the scale of the game, we're seeing it announced by Microsoft. The publisher's official Instagram account unfortunately let the cat out of the bag: a new A Plague Tale game will be announced very soon. Whether it's a full-fledged game or a spin-off, the mystery remains intact for now, but this third game will feature Sophia, the pirate encountered in Requiem. She seems younger in the clips shown, so we're leaning towards a prequel.
The official video for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which unfortunately leaked and has since been deleted, gave us some initial details via its description. Players will have to search for ancient secrets and face a mythical creature at the heart of a devastating curse, without knowing anything more. This fits perfectly with the character's past, which intrigued many players in A Plague Tale Requiem. So, definitely tune in tonight from 7:00 PM for more revelations and images. And like you, we can't wait. According to the unfortunate leak, A Plague Tale Legacy will be available sometime in 2026 on Xbox Series, PC and PS5.
