After Baldur's Gate 3, a promising new official game announced

Thanks to Baldur's Gate 3, the iconic role-playing game has returned to the forefront of the video game scene with a flourish, after many years marked by various more or less convincing attempts. Wizards of the Coast, the company that holds the rights to the license, does not intend to stop there and already has numerous titles in the pipeline, in development at various partner studios. Via an official press release, it announced a new one that could also be worth a look.

A promising video game successor for Dungeons & Dragons after Baldur's Gate 3?

Among Wizards of the Coast's many video game projects around Dungeons & Dragons, Dragons, we naturally have the "sequel" to Baldur's Gate 3. However, this will be without the talented teams at Larian Studios, who are once again going it alone for their two future games. The publisher must therefore find another studio to take up this very significant torch after the absolute GOTY 2023.

However, this is not the only game in the Dungeons & Dragons universe that is to succeed Baldur's Gate 3. According to a leak in February, we could notably be entitled to an Enhanced Edition of the excellent Neverwinter Nights 2. We can also mention the promising Solasta 2, by the French studio Tactical Adventures. Yesterday, however, Wizards of the Coast announced yet another game in the universe, developed in partnership with Giant Skull.

The press release, cited in the source below, certainly piques our curiosity by presenting this new project as a "single-player action-adventure game in the Dungeons & Dragons universe." Even more interesting, the Giant Skull studio is headed by Stig Asmussen, notably known for his role as director on God of War 3 and the Star Wars Jedi franchise. A person who could not be more competent on paper, in short. This new game is unlikely to be released for a long time, however. Patience is therefore required to see if it can represent for the action-adventure genre what Baldur's Gate 3 was for the C-RPG genre in the Dungeons & Dragons universe. Dragons.
