Apple Wallet: iOS 26 adds a feature expected for years

Apple Wallet: iOS 26 adds a feature expected for years

Until now, Apple Wallet only allowed access to the last four digits of a saved bank card registered in the app. This was a frustrating limitation for those who wanted to easily find their banking details. With the latest iOS update, Apple is finally fixing this.

iOS 26 now allows you to save all bank card details

Available now in the iOS 26 beta, this new feature allows users to manually enter all their credit or debit card details. To do this, simply select a card already registered in Apple Wallet, then tap the information icon in the top right corner. A new option then appears: "Add physical card information."

Once enabled, this feature allows you to enter the full card number, expiration date, security code, cardholder name, and even a personalized description. In other words, the Wallet app finally has the capabilities that some were expecting in the Passwords app launched last year.

Security provided by iCloud

Apple specifies that this sensitive data is encrypted and stored in iCloud Keychain, Apple's secure ID and password management system. This information is only visible to the user and is not used for Apple Pay payments.

The process remains entirely optional. No fields are filled out by default, and it is up to the user to choose whether they wish to add this information. By centralizing this data in Wallet, Apple intends to make its application a true digital safe that will eventually make your physical wallet redundant.
