During the night of June 5 to 6, 2025, all channels will experience a interruption for a few minutes. This outage will allow ARCOM to confirm the new channel allocation for linear television. Since the departure of C8 and NRJ12, confirmed on March 1, viewers had to settle for a black screen instead of the usual programs. Now that both entities have ceased broadcasting, a majority of channels will change their numbers. Owners of a TV box or smart TV will not need to do anything to enjoy the new channel layout. The TV boxes and devices concerned will automatically update. For others, human intervention is required. But how do you proceed?
For aerial antennas
Users of a television connected to an antenna or receiving DTT via cable will simply need to go to the device's "Menu". Viewers will then be prompted to access the "Configuration" or "Channel Settings" section to perform a search. Be careful, the "automatic channel search" should be preferred, since searching manually can be tedious. Arcom, in a communication, specifies that the television's password may be requested. Most often, it has not been changed by users and consists of a series of basic numbers. Therefore, you should try: "0000", "1234", "1111" or even "9999". It may also be indicated in the machine's manual.
After a few minutes, you will be able to enjoy the new channel organization. To ensure that everything is in order, you will nevertheless need to go to channels 1, 4, 13 and 15. If the channels of TF1, France 4, BFM TV and LCI are accessible, the TV has been updated. Note that some TVs can also perform this operation automatically, but it is advisable to check to ensure that all the channels have been changed.
For DTT reception by satellite
For those who rely on satellite, the procedure is essentially the same. The procedure must also be carried out in the TV menu. Here again, it is the channel search function that allows you to reconfigure the channel organization. You will also have to wait a few minutes to verify that all channels are assigned.
