Beware, Samsung will get rid of inactive accounts this summer

Samsung intends to delete inactive accounts starting July 31. This cleanup operation will affect accounts that have not been used for 24 consecutive months. This measure aims to protect the data of users who no longer use these accounts, the company explains. A deleted account naturally no longer contains any data: it is therefore impossible to siphon it off.

How to save a Samsung account?

But once deleted, an account can no longer be restored either! Therefore, if you want to keep a Samsung account, the best thing to do is to log in: any login activity, even just once in the last 24 months, protects the account. Using any Samsung service or device while logged in also serves as proof of activity on the account.

A Samsung account, of course, allows you to log in to the Galaxy Store and the manufacturer's apps, to manage a smartwatch or view your health information. It is, however, possible to log in with a Google account (Gmail, for example), but sometimes we prefer to use separate identifiers.

The company will send an email to the affected users before the cleanup, but if Samsung only knows the email address associated with the inactive account, there is a good chance that the owner of said account will miss the information.
