Canal+ is thinking of those who pay the bill but don't always have the opportunity to take advantage of their access to the catalog. For Father's Day, the French company is making a paid option completely free. Starting this Monday, June 2nd and continuing until July 1st, all Canal+ subscription holders can enjoy two additional streams via MyCanal. The option usually charged at 10 euros per month is now offered free of charge. In a message on its blog, Canal+ Assistance explains:
To take advantage of this option, no action is necessary. The option is automatically activated for all Canal+ subscription holders, regardless of which one. There's also no need to prove paternity; the offer applies to everyone. Please note, however, that this addition of two streams does not apply to partners such as Paramount+ or Netflix. It will therefore not be possible to use it on third-party applications. It will only be possible to enjoy these two additional simultaneous screens via the MyCanal app. Canal+ specifies that this sharing can only be done within the same household, and that it can only take place for personal and private use.
And then?
Often, with this kind of gift, you have to make sure to deactivate the option once the free period is over. Not here, since Canal+ promises that the option will be deactivated at the beginning of July. Customers should therefore not have the unpleasant surprise of seeing their subscription increase by ten euros per month. “When the benefit ends, your initial subscription will continue under the same terms and conditions of duration and price. Your number of streams will revert to the number of streams you initially held.”Canal+ is no doubt hoping that its customers, once they have tasted life without restrictions on the number of devices, will be tempted by the ten euro option.
