No new DLC for now, but Cities: Skylines 2 isn't standing still. While we wait for the highly anticipated Bridges and Ports, Colossal Order is offering a free update that adds essential tools for your cities. The name of this update? Quays and Piers. And believe it or not, it could transform the way you build.
Free content in Cities Skylines 2
Good news for demanding urban planners of Cities Skylines 2, quays are finally making an appearance. Three sizes are available: narrow, medium, and wide, and they automatically adapt to the water's edge. No more struggling with the classic road tool to create a beautiful promenade. With just a few clicks, the dock aligns perfectly with the shore.
Want more freedom in the game? You can turn off automatic adjustment and build your way. Best of all, docks can also be used to create terraced landscapes. Ideal for giving relief to your cities.
Real footbridges to beautify your neighborhoods
The piers (or footbridges on stilts) in Cities Skylines 2 are also included. Available in the development menu, they allow you to extend pedestrian paths above the water. Perfect for port areas, beaches, or residential neighborhoods that deserve a little extra design. Here again, three sizes are available. And as long as they're connected to a road or footpath, they integrate seamlessly into your network.
If there's one addition that's going to get people talking, it's this one: Cities: Skylines 2's first double-deck bridge. On the upper section, a four-lane highway. Below, a double railway track. This kind of infrastructure changes everything for large cities. Until now, you had to juggle several bridges and adjust the heights by hand. Now, everything is integrated into a single construction. Practical, clean, and above all, a real space saver. Another useful new feature is a double-track railway bridge, ideal for parallel lines.
Again, no need to tinker. Everything is ready to use. In addition to these additions, the update fixes several bugs and improves the game's stability. Colossal Order states that other fixes are in progress, and that the team continues to address feedback from Cities Skylines 2 players.
