As Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition arrives this June 5th to accompany the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, it seems that CD Projekt RED is also preparing to inject some significant new features for all platforms. This is in any case the subject of speculation on the part of the gaming community, which is based on recent discoveries relating to its port to the Big N console.
A final gig very soon for all the mercs of Cyberpunk 2077?
Aside from its port to Nintendo Switch 2, everything suggested that CD Projekt RED was finished with Cyberpunk 2077, after five years of hard work to offer it a beautiful redemption. Today, the Polish studio's latest title is doing significantly better than when it was released. It has even managed to completely win back its audience. This is evidenced by the symbolic milestone of 10 million sales recently reached for its Phantom Liberty DLC, which will be included in the Ultimate Edition and will accompany the launch of the Switch 2.
Players have also discovered elements absent on other platforms in preliminary extracts of this port of Cyberpunk 2077. These take the form of new icons on the Night City map. In said gameplay extracts, these icons actually lead to loot caches. It could then be that CD Projekt RED is taking advantage of the release of the Switch 2 version of the game to deploy a new, and this time probably final, update for all platforms. In any case, it would be a welcome addition to allow everyone to discover the many secrets hidden in the Dreaming City.
The Polish studio should then mainly focus on patching the Switch 2 port of Cyberpunk 2077, if necessary. But all its attention will be focused mainly on The Witcher 4, highly anticipated around 2027/2028, and Cyberpunk 2, recently entered pre-production, for a presumed release around 2030. As a reminder, these two major titles currently occupy around 400 and 100 developers respectively at CD Projekt RED.
