When it comes to video games, many aspects contribute to the greatness of the work. We often think of the writing of the story or even the gameplay. However, we should not forget the entire artistic dimension which is an integral part of its identity. Fans of Dragon Quest know this well and Square Enix too. This is why the publisher has a nice surprise in store for all fans of its great J-RPG saga.
Dragon Quest listens to its fans
Lately, the Dragon Quest saga has been placed under the sign of nostalgia. In fact, while the next original installment is still awaited, Square Enix is re-releasing the HD-2D remakes of the first three games. Clearly, this is the kind of attention that is very popular given the success of its first attempt in this field. Longtime fans should therefore not be disappointed by this new announcement.
Square Enix has just unveiled a nice surprise for the most music-loving fans: the complete OST from the 11 main installments of the franchise will soon be available on Apple Music. Anyone with a subscription to the listening platform will be able to rediscover a whole musical section of the saga. They will also have the opportunity to purchase and download it on various platforms.
We owe the soundtrack of the main Dragon Quest games to the great composer and late Koichi Sugiyama. Note that it is performed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. It is therefore a version that will revive fans' original memories of the saga. The exact release date for the full OST on Apple Music has not yet been specified, but it should be soon.
Online Release Announcement!
This summer, all 11 works, from the "Dragon Quest I Symphonic Suite" to the "Dragon Quest XI Symphonic Suite," will be available on Apple Music and various download services.
