Dune Awakening rolls out a highly anticipated new update, here's what's changing

Dune: Awakening continues to evolve with a series of updates. Patch 1.1.0.15 brings several notable adjustments, headlined by a modified respawn system, better damage management, and a series of fixes designed to improve the overall gameplay experience. Here's what you need to know.

PvP changes in Dune Awakening

This is probably the most significant change in this patch: the respawn time in PvP zones has been extended in Dune: Awakening. From now on, the first respawn will take 70 seconds, and subsequent respawns will increase to 115 seconds. This change radically changes the pace of combat and aims to strengthen the tactical aspect of player-to-player combat. In other words, dying will now have a real cost, and you'll have to think twice before rushing in headfirst.

Good news for Arketone explorers: vehicles will no longer inflict damage on you when colliding in Dune: Awakening. This may seem trivial, but for those who spend a lot of time on foot in desert areas, it's a relief. This small adjustment reduces stress in hostile environments and prevents senseless deaths.

Welcome quality of life improvements

Funcom has also made several small touches that make the interface and mechanics more pleasant in Dune: Awakening. For example, system messages are now displayed in the top center of the screen, making them much more visible. When respawning on another map, you will now have to manually confirm the action by typing "Respawn". This measure prevents accidental errors. Another addition: players will now see a notification when they visit private servers in the browser. Nothing revolutionary, but it's details like this that make the experience smoother.

This Dune Awakening update also fixes a good handful of bugs. Among the most notable:

  • Crashes when switching between servers in the Deep Desert have been fixed.
  • Weapons like the Maula pistol have had their visual effects readjusted to better match the direction of fire.
  • Several exploits related to base, water, and projectile management have been eliminated.
  • Annoying bugs related to dialogue, resource loss, and crafting have also been resolved.

In summary, Funcom continues to fix Dune: Awakening's flaws while adding small, useful features in the long run.
