A preview screening of Jurassic World Renaissance took place in London this week. Following this, X hosted the first feedback on this fourth installment of the saga. The feedback was surprisingly positive.
The Jurassic World
In 2015, filmmaker Colin Trevorrow was tasked with reviving the Jurassic Park franchise, 14 years after the third installment directed by Joe Johnston. Led by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, Jurassic World was a huge popular success (despite fairly negative press reviews). With a budget of $150 million, Jurassic World grossed more than $1.6 billion at the box office. An impressive score that places the film as the biggest success in the history of Universal Studios.
After two other installments directed respectively by Juan Antonio Bayona and Colin Trevorrow, Gareth Edwards took over the reins of the franchise since he was hired to direct Jurassic World Renaissance. As a reminder, Gareth Edwards is known for directing intelligent, creative, even auteurist blockbusters, since he is responsible for the excellent Monsters (2010), Godzilla (2014), Rogue One (2016) and the recent The Creator (2023).
The fact that he is taking on the direction of Jurassic World Renaissance is therefore excellent news for fans. For the occasion, David Koepp, the ancestral screenwriter of the license, is back to write. Jurassic World Renaissance will take place 5 years after the events of Jurassic World: The World After, and will present a whole new cast in the presence of Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali and Rupert Friend.
Following the preview in London which took place at the beginning of the week, the lucky ones who have already been able to discover the film, let loose on social networks. Most of the feedback has been extremely positive, with some even calling it "the most beautiful Jurassic Park ever made."
Super Positive Feedback

Gareth Edwards does a great job and making you feel the scale of these things and presents them in such a terrifying way.
Some great set pieces too! pic.twitter.com/PiNxnACYkl
I got to see Jurassic World Renaissance tonight and had a blast. I'm glad to see dinosaurs being truly scary again. Gareth Edwards did a great job making us feel the magnitude of these dinosaurs by presenting them in a truly terrifying way. Some great sets too.
#JurassicWorldRebirth was a lot of fun and had all the Jurassic feels. It doesn't advance the overall story much, but the story here is interesting, and the characters are good. It felt like the original trilogy, which made me very happy. One scene in particular gave me chills.

Jurassic World Renaissance was a lot of fun. It had all the hallmarks of the original series. It doesn't really move the story forward as a whole, but the story is interesting and the characters are well-rounded. It feels like the original trilogy, which I really liked. One scene in particular gave me chills.

Although a few too many moments were predictable, and others either cute or cringe, it's a fun time loaded with nostalgia & jumps #JurassicWorld pic.twitter.com/a13X7wOjy5
Jurassic World Renaissance offers a lot in its dinosaur-infested land and sea settings. The tension stays with you throughout the film. Even though there are a few moments that are too predictable, and others that are a bit cute or awkward, it's a fun time filled with a saving nostalgia.
Obviously, there are a few spoilers:
I've just watched Jurassic World Rebirth, and I have 2 things to say:
