Elden Ring Nightreign: The feature everyone wanted is coming, it's official!

Released only this May 30, 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox, Elden Ring: Nightreign is already a huge hit and a new coup for FromSoftware. Despite its deliberate cooperative orientation and a gameplay loop very different from Elden Ring, its spin-off has managed to seduce its audience, despite several pitfalls. To reassure its world, the Japanese studio is taking this opportunity to first thank the players, and above all to announce some very big news.

Elden Ring Nightreign makes a big announcement to celebrate its last successful expedition

Likely driven in part by its affiliation with FromSoftware's original 2022 masterpiece, Elden Ring Nightreign is off to a blistering start, having already surpassed the 3.5 million sales mark just five days after its release. This is despite a radically different style from its predecessor, and initially "mixed" reviews on Steam, now upgraded to "mostly positive." Players therefore seem to be won over, as long as they can launch expeditions in a group of three organized by voice, in the absence of such a feature available directly in the game.

Besides the lack of integrated voice chat, Elden Ring Nightreign also suffers from a few technical issues, some of which date back to the original game, and sometimes capricious matchmaking. Some of these issues should, however, gradually receive appropriate fixes via future updates. But the biggest complaint from players is the inability to launch expeditions with two players. Aware of the new success it holds in its hands, FromSoftware has rightly split a message aimed at winning over its audience even more.

Following a thank you post on the franchise's official X.com account, the studio announced that "new additions will gradually arrive in Elden Ring Nightreign, including improved fights against existing Nightsigners, as well as Duo Expeditions, at a later date." FromSoftware also points out that a DLC will arrive later in the year to add new content, including new Nocturnes to play as and Nightlords to face.
