Google is preparing to add a basic, yet missing, feature to its Gemini app on Android. AI will be capable of more, and that's a good thing. Find out what it's all about in the video.
When ChatGPT first arrived, everyone was raving about its ability to respond to our written requests as if we were talking to a real person. Today, this functionality has been enhanced with numerous options. Obviously, competitors like Google's Gemini had to keep up to offer at least the same thing, if not better. On Android, it's integrated almost everywhere. The AI can summarize your Google Docs files or write one for you, for example.
Gemini is also a full-fledged application, and it's where we turn for more general requests. You can, for example, show it a photo from your gallery or one you've just taken before asking a question about it. The same goes for a video, as long as it doesn't exceed 5 minutes. With one detail: it's not possible to film directly with your smartphone for Gemini to use as a support. A feature that seems basic when you think about it, and which is finally arriving.
The Gemini app on Android will soon be even more useful with this option
In the latest beta version of the Gemini app, our colleagues at Android Authority noticed the presence of a new feature. In this case, live video capture. Its use, which you can see a demonstration of in the video below, is extremely simple. On the interface for taking a photo to add it to a query on Gemini, a button lets you switch between photo and video.
Nothing rocket science, then, just something you'd expect to find in this kind of service. In fact, anyone who tries Gemini after this feature arrives will likely find it hard to believe it wasn't there in the first place. It's unclear when Google will roll it out, but given that it appears to be working, it's likely within a few weeks. Unless an unforeseen bug disrupts the schedule, of course.
