Gen V Season 2: 7 things to remember from the new trailer

Prime Video unveiled the new Gen V season 2 trailer on May 31, 2025. In less than two minutes, the trailer redefines the stakes of the series. What was once a superhero school is now a war zone. The images announce a major turning point in the universe of The Boys.

Gen V Season 2: 7 things to remember from the new trailer

#1 A darker and heavier atmosphere

From the first seconds, the trailer sets the tone: the lightness of the first season is gone. The visuals are darker, the pace more breathless and the violence omnipresent. The familiar corridors of Godolkin University, once the scene of student power games, are now carpeted with blood, screams, and terror.

#2 Godolkin Becomes a Highly Secured Military Base

In this context, Godolkin University is no longer a school, but a training camp. The change is driven by a new central character: Dean Cipher, played by Hamish Linklater. This cold and manipulative dean imposes military discipline and an ideology of Supe supremacy. The campus thus becomes a militarized zone, filled with cameras, uniformed agents, and propaganda.

#3 An open war between Supes and Humans

The Supes, organized and armed by Vought, are preparing to impose their vision of the world. The Humans, for their part, refuse to submit. They regroup, protest, and begin to fight back. Homelander, who is briefly seen, seems to have taken control of operations outside. Inside, Godolkin becomes a strategic cell, a soldier factory.

#4 A secret program threatens to come to light

The trailer also hints at a top-secret project, carried out for years in the shadows of the university. This program could be linked to the origins of powers, genetic manipulation, or experiments on non-consenting subjects. Marie Moreau, the heroine of the series, seems increasingly involved. She gradually discovers that her story is linked to this program. At the same time, several students begin to question themselves.

#5 A tribute to Andre Anderson

A poignant sequence in the trailer pays tribute to Andre Anderson, an important character in the first season, played by Chance Perdomo. As a reminder, the actor tragicly passed away in March 2024. The series creators then chose to integrate this loss into the narrative. We see Polarity, his father (played by Sean Patrick Thomas), express his pain and anger:

If I don't get my son back... I'll blow up this school.

6 - The group is fractured, former allies become enemies

In season 1, Marie, Jordan, Andre, Emma and Cate formed a close-knit group, united by hardship. But the trailer seems to indicate that this solidarity will break, probably through betrayal, manipulation, and death.

#7 Is Godolkin coming to an end?

The last seconds of the trailer are chaotic: sirens wailing, buildings exploding, students fleeing screaming... We see Marie, standing in the middle of the chaos, her face covered in blood, her hands ready to fight. Everything suggests that Godolkin University might not survive this season.

Season 2, expected on September 17, 2025 on Prime Video, will offer 3 episodes at launch, then one episode each week until October 22.
