We may not be playing GTA 6 this year, but Rockstar Games will definitely have something to help tide fans over until its release. While it can't get its hands on the highly anticipated next entry in the franchise, the studio continues to regularly update GTA 5's multiplayer, whose success hasn't waned one iota over the years. It must be said that the star-studded company knows how to please its community. And she proves it to us once again by teasing the arrival of a new feature much requested by fans.
The imminent arrival of mansions in GTA 5?
While the latest GTA Online update, "Money Fronts," has just been released, dataminers, as usual, have not wasted a single minute of their time before going rummaging through the game's codes in the hope of unearthing some juicy information. And visibly, the catch was good since they would have discovered the mention of something eagerly awaited by GTA 5 players for years: the introduction of mansions as a place of residence.
Indeed, until today, only more or less luxurious apartments can be purchased in GTA Online. However, after accumulating millions or even billions of dollars over the years, GTA 5 players now dream of only one thing: being able to invest their money in even more luxurious residences. A mechanic that could then arrive in the next update of the game, planned for this winter, through a new series of missions given by Mr. Faber.
Because as revealed by certain lines of code brought to light by dataminers, some missions will apparently consist of helping a client develop a luxury property business. Once this is done, the following message should then appear for the player: "You have won an exclusive discount on the purchase of a future property with Prix Luxury Real Estate. They will contact you soon when properties become available." Not to mention that the mention "Mansion Teaser" has also been spotted elsewhere in the GTA 5 code.
An interesting theory from fans
Suffice to say, this leaves little room for doubt regarding the future arrival of mansions as new properties. However, it should be noted that this is not official at this time. This would not be the first time that information discovered via a game's code ultimately leads to nothing. But knowing the creators of GTA 5, the addition of such mentions is probably far from trivial. This nevertheless leaves good hope for the future of GTA Online, which will continue to take shape over the coming months.
In this regard, one fan theory suggests that the introduction of mansions is actually not really planned for the online mode of GTA 5, but rather for that of GTA 6. Mr. Faber's missions would then make it possible to make the link between the two games, which would explain why the message displayed at the end of these missions would ask players to be patient while waiting for the agency to contact them. Of course, this remains pure speculation, but it must be admitted: it's a theory with some charm.
