Samsung will soon officially unveil the Galaxy Watch 8 series. The brand's future smartwatches are far from a mystery, as unsurprisingly, numerous leaks have given us a very good look at their design. From what we've already seen, the Korean manufacturer has decided to upgrade the Galaxy Watch 8 to the "squircle," a contraction of "square" and "circle." A choice that doesn't please everyone, but one that we'll have to get used to.

The most optimistic were waiting to see the entire range to find out if at least one model would be spared. Unfortunately for them, this is not the case. The famous leaker Evan Blass posted renderings of the Galaxy Watch 8 that leave no room for doubt. The series will be available in 3 versions: the Galaxy Watch 8 standard, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic and the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) which would therefore not be called “Ultra 2”.

Let’s start with the leftmost model below, the standard Galaxy Watch 8. Even though it’s thinner than the others, we can clearly see that the dial adopts the “squircle”. The screen itself remains round of course, and we can see that it displays a relatively thick black border. On the right side of the watch are two physical buttons, not three like on other variations of the device.

In the middle is the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) with its blue strap and prominent orange button. The screen border is thinner. However, it's not yet known if the watch will have a rotating bezel. As for the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, the rendering confirms what we already saw in photos in early June. The Galaxy Watch 8 should be unveiled at Samsung's Unpacked conference this summer, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip and Fold 7.
