Microsoft unveils its artificial intelligence video creation tool. It's integrated into Bing and available for free to everyone. Let's see what it can do and how to use it.
AI-powered video creation for everyone. This is what Microsoft is now offering with a new tool integrated into Bing. The Redmond firm is following in the footsteps of Google and its Veo 3, generating videos so realistic that an emergency warning had to be put in place. No need to pay a subscription to enjoy it; it's free.
Under the hood, OpenAI's Sora is at the helm, a model presented at the end of February 2025 and already impressive at the time. We can therefore expect quality results, but rather than assume it, it's best for you to try it for yourself. The service is now available worldwide, except in Russia and China. Here's how to use it.
Create AI videos for free with Microsoft's new Bing tool
At the time of publishing, the video creation tool is available in the Bing app on Android and iOS only. Note that it's called Microsoft Bing Search on both stores, so you'll need to install or update it first. Also, be sure to sign in to your Microsoft account once you open the app. You'll be prompted to do so anyway to complete the process. Next:
- Open the menu by tapping the icon at the bottom right of the screen, circled in red in the screenshot below, then tap Video Creator.
- In the field provided, enter your query, specifying as much detail as possible for optimal results. Feel free to check out our tips below.
- Press Create and wait to admire the result. Generating a video takes several hours.
- You will receive a notification when the video is ready.
The options are currently very limited. The format must be vertical, in 9:16, knowing that 16:9 support is already provided by Microsoft. The clip will last a maximum of 5 seconds, not one more. You can start up to 3 video generations at the same time to create a queue. Each creation will be kept for 90 days in your account before being deleted. So remember to download them to your mobile before the end of this period.
All users are entitled to 10 free “quick” builds, which still take hours. Once exhausted, you will need to spend 100 Microsoft Rewards points per video if you want the same creation speed. These are rewards earned in exchange for using the company's applications. For example, searching with Bing on PC or mobile, or browsing on Edge. You can definitely create videos without these points, but it will take even more time.
Some tips for getting the best possible video
To get the best possible result, be very specific. Don't write "a man walking down the street", but "a man in his thirties wearing a gray coat, a white shirt, and black pants walking slowly down a street reminiscent of New York at dusk". Also use action and movement verbs like "run", "dance", "gallop", and adjectives that describe the general atmosphere of the scene ("ethereal", "cloudy", "scary"...).
Microsoft is already planning to roll out Bing Video Creator to PCs. You'll be able to access it directly from your web browser by going to bing.com/create. Regardless of the platform used, it's theoretically not possible to create anything and everything. If a query is deemed likely to result in a "harmful or dangerous" video, the prompt is blocked and the user is warned.
