In many older homes or urban condominiums, installing traditional air conditioning remains simply impossible. This is precisely where Hexapro+ comes in, the new model launched by the French company Hexafresh (a Nantes-based startup that won an award at the MIT Enterprise Forum). Designed as an accessible, mobile, and sustainable solution, this portable air conditioner aims to reconcile thermal performance, energy efficiency, and ease of use.
A concentration of technology in a compact format
At first glance, Hexapro+ could pass for a classic portable air conditioner. But behind its modest dimensions (30 x 28 x 55 cm) lies a patented technical innovation: a hybrid closed-circuit water system capable of recovering condensation water and reinjecting it in the form of mist onto the condensers. The gain is twofold: thermal performance remains constant, even during prolonged use, and water consumption is drastically reduced.
This original operation is complemented by an intuitive touch screen, three fan speeds, a Turbo mode to quickly cool a room, and a dehumidifier function that is particularly useful in periods of high humidity. In use, Hexapro+ also stands out for its simplicity: no filters to change, no restrictive maintenance, silent operation (51 dB) and instant start-up via a simple power outlet. A welcome portability in homes where we are looking to relieve the main rooms, such as the bedroom or living room, without any work.
Energy efficiency that makes a difference
With an average consumption of 440 W, Hexapro+ consumes up to 70% less energy than a conventional air conditioner. A figure that could well make a difference in times of rising electricity bills. The device also uses a natural refrigerant gas (R290), which is non-toxic and has no impact on the ozone layer, unlike the fluorinated gases that are still used in many competing models. The choice of this cleaner alternative underlines Hexafresh's desire to offer a solution that meets current ecological expectations, without sacrificing efficiency.
Hexapro+ is not only designed for comfort, but is also aimed at the most vulnerable groups in the face of extreme heat, such as seniors or fragile people, who are often poorly equipped or forced to endure the heat in poorly insulated homes. Its portability, ease of use, and its price of 389 euros make it an immediately available solution, without a technician or condominium authorization, to cool a space of 15 to 17 m².
With its three modes (cooling, heating, ventilation), the device is also useful in the off-season or as a one-off supplement to an existing heating system. This versatility appeals to both individuals and professionals, from nursing homes to hotels, offices, and student residences.
