Nintendo's next-gen console, the Switch 2, has arrived. And there's already an easy way to reduce its price, without waiting for the sales. We'll explain everything in this article.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has been available since June 5, 2025. More powerful and more immersive, it comes with a solid lineup, including Mario Kart World, and a price that climbs to €499.99 for the complete pack. But good news for players who already have one: Fnac is offering an immediate trade-in offer, which allows you to recover up to €133.20 in vouchers in exchange for your old console.
Three trade-in levels depending on your model
The offer applies to all models from the previous generation. The value of the voucher depends on the console you are returning, provided that it is in perfect condition and complete.
Here are the amounts offered:
- €133.20 for an OLED Switch
- €98.40 for a classic Switch
- €64.10 for a Switch Lite
The principle is simple:
- Add the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World pack to your basket.
- Go to your Fnac basket.
- In the “Trade-in your old device” section, click on “Estimate my product”.
- The tool assesses the condition of your console.
- Once validated, the discount is automatically applied to your order.
Result: in the best case, the price of the pack drops to €366.79. A good deal for those already considering upgrading to the new generation.
A console much more than a simple upgrade
We already told you about it this morning during our full review of the Nintendo Switch 2: the Switch 2 is not just a faster version of the previous one. It offers a series of concrete developments that improve both the single-player and multiplayer experience:
- A 7.9-inch LCD screen (1080p, 120 FPS, HDR)
- A 4K-compatible dock with integrated cooling
- 256 GB of internal memory, expandable via Micro SD Express cards
- New magnetic Joy-Con 2 with optical sensor and redesigned buttons
- A GameChat function with screen sharing, voice chat and optional camera
- GameShare, which allows you to play with several people with a single copy of the game
At the same time, the console remains backward compatible with a large part of the Nintendo Switch catalog, with free updates for certain titles like Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom.
All this is accompanied by Mario Kart World, now an open world, with up to 24 players per race, a Ride mode and connected circuits with no loading time. Ideal for fully discovering the capabilities of the new machine.
