For PlayStation gamers, times aren't exactly festive right now. Fortunately, third-party and Xbox games are keeping us busy. As for exclusive games with PlayStation Studios, they're starting to become scarce. The latest State of Play, a few days ago as part of the Summer Game Fest, didn't exactly reassure gamers.
Today, bad news: PlayStation confirmed during its quarterly report that the two big, highly anticipated games, Marvel's Wolverine (from Insomniac Games) and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet (from Naughty Dog), will not be released this fiscal year. We will therefore have to be content with Ghost of Yotei on October 2.
Wolverine and Intergalactic after March 2026
PlayStation recently confirmed during its latest quarterly report with investors that its two highly anticipated titles, Marvel’s Wolverine (from Insomniac Games) and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet (from Naughty Dog) will not be released this fiscal year. The two titles will therefore not arrive before April 2026, in the best case scenario, since PlayStation's fiscal year ends on March 31, 2026.
The latest news is that Marvel's Wolverine is in full development, but the Insomniac Games teams don't seem ready, for the moment, to give us new information on the game's development. Obviously, we'll have to be patient for the game's release, as 2026 doesn't seem certain for a release of the title.
Regarding Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the game from Naughty Dog, the latter is also in full development. Production seems well advanced and the title is now playable from start to finish. But, that doesn't mean it's ready for release. According to numerous rumors, Intergalactic would not be expected before the end of 2026 or even spring of 2027 exclusively on PS5.
