We're taking the same old stuff, and starting again. After ploughing the furrow of connected glasses with Ray-Ban, Meta is offering a new range, this time with Oakley, another EssilorLuxottica brand with which Meta has been working since 2021 and the launch of the first generation of connected Ray-Ban. Contrary to what one might have thought, the Oakley Meta HSTN does not follow the streamlined design of Oakley sports glasses like the Sphaera; it's closer to the urban Holbrook style.
A very special design for the Meta Oakley
The design of this limited edition Desert 24k Prix Polar will leave no one indifferent, with its white frame and gold accents that you have to want to wear. Other models and other, slightly more discreet colors will be available during the summer.
Technically speaking, these Oakley glasses offer 8 hours of battery life (19 hours of standby time), and half the battery can be recharged in 20 minutes. The carrying case lasts up to 48 hours. The 12 MP camera goes up to 3K video recording (compared to 1080p on the Ray-Ban). They are IPX4 certified for water resistance. And of course, there are the Meta AI features. But still no integrated screen, even if it's in the pipeline.
This model is scheduled for July 11, at a price of $499. Other versions will be sold starting at $399. Meta is far from finished with its family of connected glasses: Prada could be the next brand on the list.
