Metroid Prime 4 “already available”: Nintendo makes the blunder of the century

Is Nintendo about to shadowdrop Metroid Prime 4 after an eight-year wait from gamers? Without going that far, it must be said that the game's latest appearance raises a few questions. On Friday, June 20, London gamers made a strange discovery while taking the early morning subway.

One of the advertising spaces at Oxford Circus station now features a series of posters honoring the Switch 2, and one of them mentions the long-awaited title with the words "out now." However, Metroid Prime 4 has still not confirmed its release date, other than a launch window planned for this year. So how can we explain the appearance of this advertisement in the heart of London?

A mistake, for sure, but which one?

There's no doubt: something is wrong with the Metroid Prime 4 poster plastered in the London Underground. But now, we still need to determine the source of this blunder. The simplest theory is that this advertisement ended up there by mistake several months in advance, assuming that the printing has already taken place. The most impatient fans will see this error as a sign of the imminent arrival of the title.

However, the fault could also lie with the printer. Assuming that an identical poster model with the inscription "available soon" also exists, a reversal of the printing order also seems plausible. On Reddit, a user points out that the dates on advertising posters are sometimes covered up in order to be revealed in time, which means that the "available now" mention should have been hidden. Therefore, it is impossible for us to draw any conclusions from the appearance of this advertisement regarding the release date of Metroid Prime 4. But this stupidity did have the merit of making people laugh.

No Nintendo Direct, no release date

Following the broadcast of the Nintendo Direct dedicated to Donkey Kong Bananza this Wednesday, June 18, the company's next general presentation will probably not take place this month. Nintendo's summer schedule is already busy, with the arrival of Donkey Kong Bananza on July 17, followed by Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV on July 24 and Kirby and the Forgotten Land Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + The Land of Shooting Stars on August 28.

Everything therefore suggests that the next Nintendo Direct will take place at the back to school, in order to clarify the end-of-year calendar, which will receive blockbusters such as Metroid Prime 4, Kirby Air Riders or even Hyrule Warriors: The Seal Chronicles.
