MindsEye, the GTA-like, victim of leaks just before its release, this might surprise you

It might be hard to believe given the relative calm surrounding the project, but MindsEye, the first game developed by Build a Rocket Boy, is now currently on the verge of release. Scheduled for release on June 10th, the GTA-like created by Leslie Benzies, a former prominent member of Rockstar Games, has indeed struggled to convince the public so far, which doesn't bode well for the moment. And the least we can say is that the hard knocks are coming thick and fast for the title.

Copies of MindsEye already in the wild

Indeed, while MindsEye is just recovering from the controversy sparked by the dubious comments of one of its co-founders, now copies of the game have found themselves in the wild several days early. And as always in this kind of situation, this is inevitably accompanied by numerous leaks. Currently, more than forty minutes of gameplay can already be viewed online. And surprisingly, the feedback is not as scathing as one might have imagined.

Of course, some Internet users are far from being kind to the game, which seems open to criticism on many points. However, many people are quick to share their surprise, particularly mentioning the fact that while MindsEye may not seem extraordinary, it still has the potential to be entertaining. This is provided, however, that bugs and performance issues don't spoil the experience more than necessary, which seems to be the case for the moment, based on initial feedback.

The studio announces an important patch

However, it is worth pointing out: a "day one" patch is obviously planned to fix all these problems. Moreover, having been warned that some copies of MindsEye are already running around in the wild, Build a Rocket Boy has officially spoken out to invite players to be patient for a few more days. "We want to emphasize that a major update for the physical versions will be coming at release, bringing key improvements designed to ensure MindsEye runs the way we intended," the studio states.

"It's been a long, but rewarding road. Our entire studio and partners have poured their hearts and souls into this project, and we want everyone to experience the story the same way, at the same time, from day one, without any bias," the statement also reads. "This means you have to wait until the official release date to play MindsEye. […] So please do not share any images before launch," the studio finally advises. Even if, unfortunately, the damage is already done...
