While Capcom was scheduled to hold a presentation this Thursday, June 26, with a segment most likely dedicated to Monster Hunter Wilds and its highly anticipated Title Update 2, PlayStation has let the cat out of the bag before time. This allows us to know its exact release date, and some of its content. Let's send a team of hunters to take a closer look.
A very monstrous Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds is revealed before time
At the end of May, Yuya Tokuda, director of Monster Hunter Wilds, wrote an open letter to players following the game's 1.011 update. This letter told us that Title Update 2 would arrive at the end of June, with numerous changes planned. Before we can officially tell you more, PlayStation has released everything we need to know about it ahead of time.
Release date and new monsters coming in Title Update 2
So, we learn that Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds will be released this June 30th, with a host of new content. Among the most notable, we will have two new monsters. As previously confirmed, the first is the iconic Lagiacrus, the flagship aquatic monster from Monster Hunter Tri on Wii. The second, if we are to believe the elements discovered by data-miners in the Monster Hunter Wilds files, would be the Seregios, the flying monster that was one of the flagships of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. In addition to this, we will be entitled to a Alpha Supreme version of the Uth Duna, which will therefore succeed the Rey Dau Alpha Supreme.
A look at the other new features in the next major update for Monster Hunter Wilds
Who says Title Update 2 obviously says more than new monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds. On this point, the information revealed beforehand by PlayStation notably mentions the arrival of a highly anticipated feature: the possibility of changing the appearance of your weapons with models already manufactured. So goodbye to the appearance of the Artian weapons that have dominated the meta since the game's release.
Other new content is expected, including a Doshaguma mask as a reward for the famous weekly event quests, and other cosmetic items, unfortunately a priori accessible via paid DLC. The second major update of Monster Hunter Wilds should also bring changes to the game's balance, and particularly requested fixes, especially on PC where the title continues to drop in the Steam user rating averages. We should know everything about it during the Capcom Showcase this Thursday, June 26, or at least during the deployment of Title Update 2 on June 30.
