In recent weeks, Neil Druckmann has been in the news for a long time. It must be said that with the release of season 2 of The Last of Us, which is now over, the Naughty Dog boss has had numerous opportunities to give interviews. Filming of the series, behind-the-scenes of the studio, anecdotes about the games, the revelations have multiplied. And of course, the dogs' next title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, has also been brought up. Enough to glean some very exciting information.
The gameplay of Intergalactic should surprise
Indeed, when asked about this during his appearance on the Sacred Symbols podcast, Druckmann agreed to let himself go with a few secrets. And according to Intergalactic's director, players can already expect to be truly surprised by the game's gameplay. "It's really cool. It's the deepest gameplay we've ever done [in one of our games], and I can't wait to show it off." Granted, it's still pretty sparse as far as revelations go, but it's still better than nothing.
Especially since it should succeed in piquing the curiosity of a good number of players, especially among Naughty Dog's detractors. Because while the quality of the studio's productions has spoken for itself for decades now, the fact remains that the creators of Intergalactic have regularly faced criticism for their game mechanics, which some consider too simplistic. Even The Last of Us Part 2, which, however, undoubtedly offers one of the most immersive and visceral gameplays we have seen for a game of this genre.
A new hit on the way for Naughty Dog?
And the fact is that Druckmann seems particularly confident about the quality of this future title. "I'm very, very excited for this game, maybe more than I've been for any game," he proclaims. Suffice to say, coming from the father of The Last of Us, this is no small feat. It remains to be seen when Intergalactic will have the opportunity to show up again. Perhaps at the Summer Game Fest next week, or at a possible State of Play? Unless we have to wait a little longer. Either way, one thing is certain: Druckmann won't say any more for the moment.
