Since June 5th, Nintendo fans have finally been able to play the Nintendo Switch 2. Despite its lack of games and its price, which was deemed too high, the Big N console has received rave reviews. The enthusiasm is such that it has already broken this historic record.
Fans can finally play the Nintendo Switch 2
After a year of waiting and numerous rumors and leaks, the Nintendo Switch 2 is finally on the shelves. Released only a few days ago, the console has received good reviews, despite its price and the fact that the game catalog is not extremely extensive. The Japanese company has improved its performance as evidenced by this comparison of loading times between the Switch and the Switch 2. On the gaming side, while waiting to have fun with Pokémon, Cyberpunk 2077, Kirby Air Rider and Donkey Kong Bananza, players have to make do with Mario Kart and existing games compatible with the Switch 2. But it seems that this has not affected their enthusiasm if we believe this historic record that Nintendo has just broken.
Nintendo sets a historic record with the Switch 2
Indeed, for the moment, Nintendo has not yet confirmed anything on this subject but according to information from the insider Nintendo Prime, the Japanese company would have made a incredible performance. After contacting three different sources, Big N reportedly sold over 3 million Nintendo Switch 2 units in 24 hours.

I have now heard from three independent people that Nintendo have globally shifted over 3m Switch 2 units. This doesn't include any additional sales made today already and over the upcoming weekend.
For perspective, no console has come close to that level of...
If this information were to be confirmed by the manufacturer, it would mean that the Nintendo Switch 2 is the console with the best start in history. As a reminder, in November 2013, when the PlayStation 4 launched, Sony managed to sell one million copies of its console on its first day of sale in North America. In two months, 4.2 million PS4s were sold and 4.5 million for the PS5.
If the Switch 2 is selling more than the original, it's because Nintendo decided to supply stores accordingly to avoid the problem of resellers as was the case in 2017. The Switch had become very difficult to find. Resellers had created a shortage, sometimes forcing players to pay crazy amounts of money to get it.
For his part, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser explained that the company will be able to meet demand by ensuring a constant supply of Switch 2 until the end of 2025.
