Nintendo Switch 2: Some players had a very bad surprise with their console

On June 5, 2025, the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 was finally released, traveling by the containerload around the world to ensure that as many players as possible could order it and start using it for the first time. Unfortunately, a launch day in the heat of the moment also means terrible unforeseen events, and some were quickly disillusioned when opening the box containing their precious new acquisition.

A launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 with several hitches

The launch of a new console like the Nintendo Switch 2 is always a major event, both for the manufacturer and for players. However, such a thing requires considerable logistics to ensure the product reaches the hands of players around the world. This can unfortunately involve blunders. At the end of 2020, the launches of the PS5 and Xbox Series made history in this regard, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, with consoles stolen by unscrupulous delivery drivers, or boxes containing something other than the coveted console, among other sad disappointments.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has unfortunately not escaped a few unforeseen events, as some players have sadly experienced when opening their console's box. On forums and social networks, we can indeed see several photos of pierced screens. The fault lies in staples made with the console screen too close to the outside of the box, and therefore pierced by an overzealous staple. Others have reported seriously damaged boxes, which does not bode well for the device they contain.

Let's hope for them that, despite the excitement surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 launch, they can get their money's worth quickly, so they can enjoy their newly acquired console in the best possible conditions.
