Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2: 10 Interesting Ideas for a Potential Sequel

In 2022, Disney and Lucasfilm are developing a series centered on Obi-Wan. This is an opportunity to learn more about the famous Jedi's retreat on Tatooine. Led by Ewan McGregor, the series wasn't unanimously acclaimed, especially among fans. However, it did bring back the British actor in the role, as well as the legendary Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. Normally, no season 2 is planned, but for fun, we'll slip you here some exciting plot ideas for a possible sequel.

10) The Return of Commander Cody

Initially, Obi-Wan Kenobi was supposed to be a film trilogy. But faced with the poor reception of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Disney decided to change tack and transformed Obi-Wan Kenobi into a TV series. In the original scripts, Commander Cody was supposed to return. Played by Temuera Morrison in the prequels, Commander Cody is a strong ally of Obi-Wan. The actor would have returned to play the character for this occasion. In the planned plot, Cody betrayed the Empire and joined Obi-Wan on Tatooine. An idea that could be reused for a possible season 2. The latest news is that Cody was starting to turn against the Empire in the series The Bad Batch, which marks his last known appearance.

9) Flashbacks to the Clone Wars

Ewan McGregor has stated in the past that he would love to reprise the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi through flashbacks during the Clone Wars. A good idea that would allow season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi to reconnect the character with the prequel series by George Lucas. It's also perhaps an opportunity to stage some crazy action sequences with Ahsoka, Anakin, and Commander Cody.

8) Black Krrsantan

In the comics, Jabba the Hutt sends the bounty hunter Black Krrsantan after Obi-Wan. Indeed, the Jedi interfered in Jabba's affairs, which did not please the latter. Since the Wookie was introduced in live-action in the series The Book of Boba Fett, his return in season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi is all set.

7) A’Sharad Hett

In the Legends universe, A’Sharad Hett was the son of a Jedi Knight who went into exile and became a Tusken warlord on Tatooine. Eventually, A’Sharad Hett was taken in by the Jedi Order and trained by Ki-Adi-Mundi. Having survived Order 66, A’Sharad returned to Tatooine and joined the Tuskens, planning his revenge against the Empire. However, A’Sharad eventually crossed paths with Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was protecting the Lars’ farm. Sensing that Hett was dangerously close to the dark side, Kenobi begged him to end his campaign, but the former Jedi turned Tusken leader refused to listen. The two fought a duel, which resulted in Hett losing his arm and revealing his face—a shameful act in the eyes of his clan, who ultimately shunned him. Hett then left Tatooine in exile, became a bounty hunter and, decades later, a Sith Lord known as Darth Krayt.

6) Qui-Gon Jinn's Force Ghost

At the end of Season 1, Obi-Wan manages to reconnect with the spirit of his late former Master: the powerful Qui-Gon Jinn. Obi-Wan appears to be beginning introspective training with his former Master's Force ghost. A second season could thus develop this exciting arc and possibly mark the return of Liam Neeson as the character.

5) The return of Ahsoka Tano

They rubbed shoulders during the Clone Wars. They were colleagues, allies, friends, and they shared a special affection for Anakin. However, the two characters never crossed paths again. A second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi would be the perfect opportunity to reunite these two iconic characters through a particularly touching reunion.

4) A new confrontation with Darth Vader

The confrontation between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan is the highlight of the first season. An epic, exciting, impressive, and extremely well-directed final battle. And after all, that's what we want to see. So, why not feature a second round in a possible sequel.

3) Obi-Wan meets the Ghost crew

Wouldn't we love it if the entire small team from Star Wars: Rebels crossed paths with Obi-Wan? The Jedi helped the crew of the Ghost in Simon Kinberg's animated series, even if he remains a very secondary character. A season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi could feature, in live action, the meeting between the character of Ewan McGregor and the characters of Rebels, namely Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren.

2) The meeting with Quinlan Vos

Obi-Wan Kenobi reveals that the famous Jedi Quinlan Vos survived Order 66 and is hiding somewhere in the distant galaxy. The series specifies that Quinlan Vos is secretly working with the Rebellion. A few small Easter eggs in the series by Hossein Amini and Joby Harold allude to the existence of Quinlan Vos. Season 2 could expand on Quinlan Vos's trajectory, and the two Jedi could join forces in this possible sequel.

1) The Return of Darth Maul

Darth Maul instantly became a popular character in The Phantom Menace. Except he gets assassinated by Obi-Wan. Since then, Lucasfilm has cleverly recycled the famous Sith. Appearing in The Clone Wars, in Rebels and also in Solo, Darth Maul has become a fascinating character, a free spirit who decides to free himself from the Empire and choose his own path. Finally, Darth Maul is killed a second time (this time for real) by Obi-Wan in the series Star Wars: Rebels. But before being stopped by the famous Jedi, Darth Maul could return to say hello in live-action in a possible season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
