We expected it, but Capcom didn't miss the opportunity for this Summer Game Fest 2025 and showed us more gameplay for one of its next major releases: Onimusha Way of the Sword. After years of absence, the franchise returns from the dead to the delight of its fans, with the mission of reviving this cult license from the PS2 era, while seducing new players. The result is so far convincing and it makes us want it.
The Onimusha reboot is wowing us once again
If Resident Evil 9 is on everyone's lips, the new Onimusha is no exception and has a large number of fans salivating. We've seen it several times before, but it's always a pleasure. The game reveals even more gameplay and allows us once again to discover a rather dark artistic direction and still a desire to travel between beat'em all and horror game, like back then. The game promises to be visceral with a combat system that seems both demanding and violent. Dismemberments are certainly legion, our warrior doesn't skimp on the means to slash the demons.
More than ever, Onimusha clearly seems to be pulling out all the stops, we can even recognize some well-known monstrosities from previous installments, but also and above all, many new features. It must be said that it's been a while since we've seen the license. Onimusha still doesn't have a release date at the moment but should be released in 2026 if all goes well. However, he has already planned to give more details at Gamescom where it will even be playable. The appointment is made.
